REVIEW: BB Lemon

Hey, yall, hey!

We’re back with another restaurant review.

If you’re in the Houston area, you may have heard of the cute little restaurant on Washington that has a clear affinity for lemons.

BB Lemon is a quaint, warm and inviting restaurant offering indoor and patio seating. We stopped in on Saturday for brunch. As we learned, on the weekends it may be best to make a reservation if wanting to dine inside as the tables are often reserved.

We tried our meal outdoors, but Houston heat and humidity is relentless, so we ended up bringing the fun inside to the bar.

Note: When the weather is pleasant, patio dining is suggested. You can play a game of cornhole or take a pic by the “lemonade stand.”

On to the food…

BB Lemon offers several wine options by the glass or bottle. But we’re mimosa girls, so that’s what we had. You can get mimosas for $6 each or a carafe with three juice flavors for $24.

They were good. Your basic mimosa with orange juice. Can’t really complain about the $6 price tag either.

If there is ever an appetizer you must get, BB Lemon’s blue crab beignets is it!

They batter crab claws and serve them with this delicious sauce and it’s just something you need in your life, period!

So damn good!

We also ordered a lobster roll (because we just can’t pass one up) and the fried chicken sandwich.

The lobster roll was simple and delicious … lots of fresh lobster and tasted a hint of lemon. However, it was a bit on the smaller side for $29 if you ask us. It also comes with a small side of coleslaw.

The fried chicken sandwich was also simple, but equally delicious. It comes with lettuce, pickles and mayo. The fried chicken was crispy and flavorful. At $10, we’d say this is a good value and solid meal choice.

Another standout for us was the banana pudding. If you can make room for dessert, this is what you should order! The top had this marshmallow fluff that paired so nicely with the banana pudding and wafers. It’s not too heavy, either and it even comes in this cute little mason jar.

The banana pudding is cute AND tasty.

Guests are also able to release their inner child with the bowls of lemonheads around the restaurant. They throw in a few with your check, so feel free to indulge.

Lemonheads for the win!

We had the best server. Her name was Hillary. She was super attentive and friendly. Hope to get her when we return πŸ™‚

One last thing, parking is scarce, so it’s best to just valet. It’s complimentary.

Have you tried BB Lemon yet? If so, what was your favorite dish? Let us know in the comments!

BB Lemon is located at 1809 Washington Ave, Houston, TX 77007. They’re opening a second location in Montrose soon.
