We’d like to thank Houston Restaurant Weeks for putting this restaurant on our radar. After looking at the menu online, we were pretty amped to go!
Parking is complimentary valet. When you walk into the entrance, the downstairs of the restaurant is the “urban market.” It’s seriously the cutest. There’s a bakery with every sweet imaginable, sandwiches, coffee, snacks and even smaller portions of the restaurant’s best-selling items. If you’re in a rush or just want to grab some good stuff to-go, definitely check out the Urban Market.
And if you want a full sit-down experience with bar options, head on up the staircase to the Bistro and Bar. It’s small, modern and cozy. It was pretty crowded for a Sunday early afternoon, so we sat at the bar. So FYI – they don’t offer the Houston Restaurant Weeks’ menu on Sundays. Instead we ordered from their brunch menu. The food was superb! And the portions were a really good size. We had to take some to go.

We also ordered the bacon and onion braised brussel sprouts and they were probably the best we’ve ever eaten. Man, that could be a meal all in itself. And we were too greedy and ate it without getting a picture π¦ but if you’re dying to see them, you can check out a video of them on our Instagram “Food” highlights.
Okay, so brunch/lunch was amazing but we just could not leave Urban Eats without grabbing some desserts to go from the Urban Market bakery downstairs. Check out the goods below.

So in short, yes we will be returning to Urban Eats. There’s so many more menu items we want to check out. Everybody talks about their monkeybread appetizer. And they have happy hour Monday through Friday from 3-6pm! Also – you can still check them out for Houston Restaurant Weeks through Sept. 3.
Urban Eats is located at 3414 Washington Avenue, Houston, TX 77007.
